Eero Saarinens Miller Residence. Irwin miller and his wife in 1953, and designed by famed architect eero saarinen, the classic modernist miller residence was declared a national landmark in 2000 and finally became the property of indianapolis museum of art. So when i found out eero saarinen&039;s legendary miller house was open to the public this month, i had to pick up some shots of the all round aesthetic.

The architect started his career with an apprenticeship and partnership with his father—prolific art deco architect eliel saarinen—and went on to become one of the most important designers of the 20th century. Saarinen and his partners, herman gesellius and armas lindgren, made their home a northern outpost of high culture. Saarinen&039;s buildings are truly timeless classics and this is one of the few family homes he had ever designed.
